Ginger powder
Dehydrated fresh ginger and blended into a powder
Ingredients
- 5 hands ginger root
Instructions
- slice ginger root
- evenly spread on dehydration trays
- dry for 4 hours at 135F
- remove the thin pieces that dried and dry the thicker pieces for 2 more hours at 134F
Notes
I used a mandoline to slice very thin pieces and also cut some thicker pieces with a knife. Next time, I should just do the thin slices because they dry completely in four hours. A couple of the thick pieces didn’t completely dry even after six hours.
About five hands of fresh ginger root made one full spice container of powder.
As a bonus, the kitchen smelled like ginger while it was drying.
